About me

As a child, I remember being always interested in video and photography,  I loved to use my mother's Hitachi 8mm camcorder. I enjoyed editing videos with fun effects, and recording myself dancing, or playing with our family pets; my sister's parrots, 2 Half-moon Conures called Polly and Mary, and my brother's Ferret called Mushu.  I recall that by the age of 8, I took the camcorder to my elementary school when celebrating El Dia de Los niños y las niñas in México. I was super happy, that I was able to record my friends and to be able to have a way where could preserve the memories of my friends. I'm sorry but I have always been nostalgic while looking back at videos or photos for some reason.

So time passed, and surprisingly the same interest followed me as I grew up. I bought by the age of 13 a small purple Nikon Coolpix S220. That I completely loved. By that time I began to gain more interest in photography as a hobby, and I even applied to school photo contests and "photo clubs". I guess that the base of my curiosity in photography parted from there because I was extremely absorbed in nature's shape, texture, and colors. I would go to my grandmother's garden and photograph the flowers that she had at that season such as Yellow Bells, Geraniums, Agaves, Fig trees, Chinaberries, and Roses.

In high school and college, I was still very interested in photography, however, when I began with my undergraduate degree I focused more on school than on photography as a hobby. However, I did select a few classes of photography in my curriculum because I just could not let this passion go. I realized that I wanted to know more, and explore what I was capable of, and what genre of photography I wanted to focus more on.

It's been a delightful journey up to today when I realized that I could discover and express myself thru photography. There are many subjects that can be explored and dissected thru a photography lens and such can be as profoundly dark as well as merely superficial. What it might make a photo even more debatable, is the context of the photographer:  The year and history when the photos were taken. the feeling the photographer wanted to portray, and of course the elements in the photo composition. Those, are for me the clues, that can be analyzed like in an essay, and become art itself.

This is why I wanted to create a space where I could display my work and also a place where I could be contacted, and open for discussion and projects. All I have left to say is that am very happy to share my work with you.
